The information for this glossary was taken directly from official sources

Abdul |
One of the Maganac soldiers, usually seen wearing sunglasses
and a white shirt with green clothing. Abdul's specialty is strategic
planning and electronics, and his mobile suit has distinctive large
shoulder armor. (See the cross-listing for Maganac Corps in the
Glossary of Locations,
Events, and Terminology.)

Ahmed |
Ahmed doesn't have a listed specialty, and his mobile suit
has little in the way of customization. He is easily identified by his
handlebar mustache. (Name is also translated as Ahmad or Afmahd in some

Alex |
Alex, call sign Red Cancer, was an OZ Lieutenant and Cancer
pilot who was trained by Noin at Lake Victoria Academy and then joined OZ.
He led the Number 33 Independent Troops of Northeast Africa, Somalia
front. Along with Muller, he was hunting down former Alliance members and
attacking them in the name of Treize Khushrenada. He was killed by Zechs
after violating the terms of surrender during an attack on the Mogadishu
Fortress.

Auda |
The Maganac soldier usually seen wearing a yellow shirt,
purple pants and a black vest. Auda's mobile suit has a distinctive left
claw arm. (See the cross-listing for Maganac Corps in the

Events, and Terminology.)

Blond Student |
One of Relena's classmates at the Saint Gabriel Institute, the
academy she attended at the beginning of the series. He is a friend of
Relena's and seems to see Heero as a rival for her attention. He and Heero
meet in fencing class, where Heero bests him. The last time we see him is
at Relena's birthday party. His name is given as Kai in the series
novelization, but he is never referred to by that name in any of the
official series documentation.

Bonaparte |
An Alliance commander whose slow-moving zeppelin was moored
at the Corsica Base. He ignores warnings of a possible Gundam attack, and
dismisses the Specials' aid. After Heavyarms and Sandrock attack, Walker
and other Specials officers sacrifice themselves in order to permit
Bonaparte's escape from the base. (Also referred to in some sources as
Bonapa.)

Bundt |
An Alliance military Colonel in Central Asia who overthrew
the local government and maintained control even after OZ overthrew the
Alliance. He eventually betrayed his troops to OZ and was killed by Wufei
in Shenlong. (Also referred to in some sources as Bund, Bunto, Boont, or
Bunte.)

Catherine Bloom |
A talented acrobat and knife-thrower, Catherine is the star
performer of the circus troupe Trowa uses as his cover. At first, she
finds Trowa's quiet nature somewhat disturbing, but she eventually warms
up to her clown comrade and ultimately comes to think of him as a
surrogate little brother.

Chang Wufei |
Wufei is the descendant of a legendary Chinese warrior clan,
who sent him to Earth to fight against OZ. This proud fighter lives by a
strict code of honor, punishing evil and enforcing justice as he sees fit.
Wufei prefers to operate solo, since he has little patience for lesser
warriors. These high standards make him equally contemptuous of his own
failings in battle. The only ally he trusts is his Shenlong Gundam, which
he has nicknamed "Nataku" after a hero of Chinese mythology. (See the

Commander of Leo MS ground forces (and Heero) referred to
during combat as "Blue" (Heero is "Red"). (Also listed as Christo or

Colony Representative |
The third generation colonist who was impressed by Lady Une
during her "peaceful" tour of the colonies and offered to work with OZ.
(No character name listed in the series or support documentation.)

Colony Honorary Advisor |
The elder colonist who supports the actions of the Gundam
pilots and contests the opinions of the younger Colony Representative
while Lady Une was on her "peaceful" tour of the colonies. (No character
name listed in the series or support documentation.)

Commander Sadaul |
Commander of the village forces (and the secret Maganac base
below it) where Quatre and Duo take shelter after Heero self destructs.
(Name translated as Sadaal in some sources.)

Count Townsend |
Military officer who holds Heero and Quatre in confinement in a
military camp after both pilots land on Earth after their escape from the
Lunar Base. He treats them more in the way of guests than prisoners,
provides only minimal security measures, and allows them to make their
escape into Sanc.

Daigonegell |
A Brigadier General within the Alliance who planned the
attack and takeover of the Sanc Kingdom. Zechs assassinates him shortly
after Operation Daybreak. (Also listed as Digonadelle, Diago Onegel, Diego
D'Ongelle, Diego O'Neguil in some sources.)

Dekim Barton |
Leader and figurehead of the powerful military-industrial
complex in L3 known as the Barton Foundation, Dekim was the originator of
the plan behind the original Operation Meteor. A White Fang supporter
during the events of AC195, he masterminds Mariemaia's attempt to
overthrow the ESUN in AC196. He is eventually assassinated by one of his
own subordinates.

Doctor J |
A prior member of the Alliance’s mobile suit development
team, all of whom disbanded and fled the project after completing the
Tallgeese and designing Wing Gundam Zero, and eventually set up
development on separate colony clusters and Earth. Doctor J. (Colony
Cluster L1) designed and developed the Wing Gundam and trained Heero Yuy
to be its pilot. He also gave Heero his name. Dr.J wears tight-fitting eye
lenses, has a prosthetic left hand, wears leg braces, and walks with the
aid of a cane. GundamOfficial lists him as a cyborg.

Doktor S |
A prior member of the Alliance’s mobile suit development
team, all of whom disbanded and fled the project after completing the
Tallgeese and designing Wing Gundam Zero, and eventually set up
development on separate colony clusters and Earth. Doktor S (Colony
Cluster L3) designed and developed the Gundam Heavyarms at the request of
the Barton Foundation. He has a prosthetic nose.

Dorothy Catalonia |
Granddaughter of Duke Dermail, cousin to Treize, and
Romefeller representative and spy at Relena's Sanc Kingdom school. Though
she transfers into the Relena's Institute in order to learn about total
Pacifism, she publicly declares that she favors war, arguing that human
beings thrive on violence and conflict. She eventually follows Relena back
into space where she joins White Fang. (See the cross-listing for

Duke Dermail |
Leader of the Romefeller Foundation, Dorothy's grandfather,
and Treize Khushrenada's uncle. While Treize supports the ideal of
chivalry and valor, Demail cares only for the accumulation of money and
power. By backing OZ and setting off a worldwide civil war, he hopes to
increase the market for his corporation's mobile suits and Mobile Dolls.
While working diligently to expand the reach of the Romefeller Foundation,
he installs Relena as a figurehead under his control. The members of the
Foundation support her instead of him, so he heads into space to take
command of Space Fortress Barge. He encounters members of the White Fang's
opposition troop en-route and is killed by them.

Duo Maxwell |
Duo is a member of the wandering salvage merchant
organization known as the Sweeper Group, which sent him to Earth to battle
OZ. Despite the hardships he's suffered in his young life, and the
seriousness of his mission, Duo is always cheerful and good-natured. But
when he goes into battle as pilot of the Gundam Deathscythe, striking from
the shadows with its lethal beam scythe, he truly earns his nickname "God
of Death" (a.k.a. Shinigami). (See the cross-listing for Studio

Earth Sphere Unified Nation President |
The chief executive of the new world (after the events that take
place in the Gundam Wing series/AC195) government. Dedicated to peace and
nonviolence, he sponsors the funding of the Preventer intelligence agency.

Granddaughter |
Shown only in two brief cameo scenes of Endless Waltz, the
ESUN's granddaughter clutches a teddy bear and watches news footage with
her grandfather, and then joins the people of the city in protest at
Gundam Altron's feet.

Field Marshall Noventa |
Noventa is the highest ranking officer of the United Earth
Sphere Alliance and a key proponent of peace between the colonies and the
nations of earth. He is killed along with a number of other Alliance
officials interested in a peaceful resolution to the strife between the
colonies and Earth at the New Edwards Base when Heero destroys the
outbound shuttle carrying the dignitaries with his Wing Gundam. He is
listed as a
General in
the French version of both the mangas and the anime and the fansub.

General Septum |
One of the highest ranked members of the Alliance, General
Septum is the head of the Alliance Forces in space. In the aftermath of
the assassination of the pacifist members of the Alliance at New Edwards,
he proclaims a declaration of war. Immediately after which, Lady Une kills
him by ejecting him from Treize's jet and shooting him. (Also translated
as Septem, Ceptim or Septele in some sources.)

General Septum's Father |
Septum's father (like Septum's son, Gwinter) elected to
remain in space after the OZ takeover, deciding to stay in a location
where the Alliance still retained some authority. No other character name
is listed in the series or support documentation. (Also translated as
Septem, Ceptim or Septele in some sources.)

General Ventei |
General Ventei is head of terrestrial forces for the United
Earth Sphere Alliance, and, like Noventa, a proponent of peace between the
colonies and the nations of earth. He is killed along with a number of
other Alliance officials interested in a peaceful resolution to the strife
between the colonies and Earth at the New Edwards Base when Heero destroys
an outbound shuttle carrying the dignitaries with his Wing Gundam. (Name
translated as Benty, Bentz, Vente, or Venty in some sources.)

Gwinter Septum |
Septum's son, like Septum's father, elected to remain in
space after the OZ takeover, deciding to stay in a position where the
Alliance still had some authority. (Also translated as Septem, Ceptim or
Septele in some sources.)

Heero Yuy (pilot) |
This mysterious youth was sent from the L1 space colony
cluster to fight against OZ. Dr.J gave him the code name Heero Yuy, after
the martyred leader of the space colonies; his real name, like almost
everything else about him, is unknown. Heero has been trained since
childhood for his role as pilot of the Wing Gundam, an upbringing that has
made him cold and ruthless. But thanks to his years of training, Heero has
become a perfect soldier equally skilled in personal combat, explosives,
and computer hacking. During the events of the series, he begins to regain

Heero Yuy (politician) |
A politician who achieved the near impossible: unified the
colonies and negotiated a temporary peace with the military factions from
Earth. His assassination on April 7th, AC175, triggered a series of
events, including the planning of Operation Meteor, by which the colonies
hoped to enact revenge on the Earth nations. (Name translated as Hiiro or
Hiro in some sources. Also Yui.)

Hilde Schbeiker |
An OZ volunteer soldier that reports to the Lunar Base that
befriends Duo, tries to recruit him, and eventually turns against OZ to
works with him and provide him with a cover, working in her salvage yard..
She is injured at the end of the series when fighting against mobile
dolls, but appears alive and well again at the end of Endless Waltz. (Name
translated as Hirde in some sources; her surname is translated with
various and diverse mutilations.) (See the cross-listing for Studio

Howard |
A prior member of the Alliance’s mobile suit development
team, Howard is an aging engineer who operates an oceangoing salvage ship.
He invariably wears Hawaiian shirts and retro-styled sunglasses. Howard is
a member of the Sweeper Group, and his ship serves as a mobile base for
Duo and the Gundam Deathscythe. Originally one of team of scientists who
developed mobile suits for Romefeller, Howard helped complete the
Tallgeese and the spaceship Peacemillion, and later designed and
implemented upgrades to Gundam Heavyarms and Gundam Sandrock.

Inspector Acht |
The inspector who was sent out to verify that the Wing Gundam
that Heero self-destructed, and that Mieser was rebuilding for Zechs, was
completely destroyed. Trowa killed him during a mobile suit skirmish
outside of the Barclay base during Zechs' and Heero's duel in Antarctica.
(Also Ocht in some translations.)

Instructor H |
A prior member of the Alliance’s mobile suit development
team, all of whom disbanded and fled the project after completing the
Tallgeese and designing Wing Gundam Zero, and eventually set up
development on separate colony clusters and Earth. Instructor H (Colony
Cluster L4) was befriended by Quatre and constructed the Gundam Sandrock.
He is short, with dark hair, a receding hairline, and a thin mustache. For
more background information, read Quatre's chapter in the Episode Zero
manga.

Irea Winner |
The eldest of Quatre's 29 sisters, Irea works as a medical
doctor on an independent resource satellite under the control of the
Winner conglomerate. (It's mentioned in the series that all of Quatre's
sisters are stationed at different resource satellites.) It is unclear
whether she was killed or just injured in Episode 21, as she doesn't
appear in the series after that point. (Name translated as Iria in some
sources.)

Jim |
One of the senior chief mobile suit engineers for OZ. He works
along with Mieser on both the Tallgeese MS and the project of rebuilding
Wing Gundam.

| Katrina Peacecraft | Presumably the name of the deceased Queen of the Sanc Kingdom and
Relena and Milliardo's mother. Marquis Weridge initially addresses Relena
as such when he first sees her at the formal assembly in Moscow. (Also
Katerina or Catherina.) Appears in: Gundam Wing Series: 11 |
King Peacecraft |
King of the Sanc Kingdom and associate of Heero Yuy. Known
for his pacifist stance, he was killed during the events that took place
as his country was forcibly occupied by Alliance forces in AC182. During
the occupation, the whereabouts of Prince Milliardo and Princess Relena
were thrown into question.

Lady Une |
Lady Une is Treize's loyal aide and agent, whom he often
assigns to assassinate enemies or command important field operations.
While she is passionately devoted to Treize, and often compassionate and
nurturing in his presence, Lady Une shows no mercy to her master's foes,
and is infamous for her overzealous cruelty. These two contrasting natures
lead to her developing a split personality. Ultimately, it is her devotion
to Treize that wins out, and she becomes a balanced and fair director of
Preventers during the early days of the ESUN. There is some debate over
whether or not she is also the Middie Une that is a main character in
Trowa's Episode Zero chapter (read his chapter in the Episode Zero
manga for more
information); and it should also be noted that she is capable of piloting
Wing Gundam, which she does in order to save Treize's life. (Name

Little Girl and Puppy |
A key moment in the training of a younger Heero Yuy, the
accidental death of a little girl and her puppy in AC194 due to his
terrorist attack on an Alliance base causes Heero to rethink his training.
Dekim Barton, a key sponsor of the training, instructs Dr.J to re-train
the emotionalism from his "weapon." We are never told the name of the
little girl, but she addresses her puppy as "Mary." According to Heero's
Episode Zero chapter, it is her teddy bear that Relena touches in the
opening segment of the series.

Lucrezia Noin |
Noin is a good friend of Zechs from his days at the Lake
Victoria military academy. After graduation, she joined the academy's
staff, and now trains new Specials recruits in the art of space combat.
Though Noin is a formidable mobile suit pilot, she doesn't much care for
fighting, and she often uses her influence with OZ's leader [Treize
Khushrenada] to try to resolve crisis situations peacefully. She is deeply
loyal to Zechs, and protective of him and his younger sister, eventually
becoming a Special Guard of the Sanc Kingdom in order to protect Relena.

Manager |
Ringleader of the circus that employs Catherine Bloom and
provides cover for Gundam pilot Trowa Barton. Also often listed or
referred to simply as the manager of the circus. No character name is
listed in the series or support documentation, but in the novelization of
the series, his name is given as Hawthorne.

Mariemaia Khushrenada |
Daughter of Treize Khushrenada and Leia Barton. Born AC189 in
the L3 colony cluster on Colony X18999, and only seven years old during
the events that take place in Endless Waltz. After the death of Dekim
Barton, she is taken in by and becomes a ward of Lady Une. (Name
translated as
Marimeiya in some sources.)

Marquis Weridge |
Marquis Weridge is a high ranking member of the Romafeller
Foundation that supports Treize's rise to power. He is also Relena's
grandfather. (Also Marquise in some sources.)

Master Long |
Family elder of Wufei's family, he guides Wufei in his
training. He is very proud, and is instrumental in making the decision to
destroy his colony instead of allowing it to be used as a pawn during the
war. (Also listed as Ron Shirin, Supreme Master Long Zi-ling, or Master
Ran in some sources.)

Master O |
A prior member of the Alliance’s mobile suit development
team, all of whom disbanded and fled the project after completing the
Tallgeese and designing Wing Gundam Zero, and eventually set up
development on separate colony clusters and Earth. Tall, bald, and skilled
in martial arts, Master O (Colony Cluster L5) is the Gundam Engineer who
designed and constructed the Gundam Shenlong, and who directs the actions
of Wufei Chang.

| Milliardo Peacecraft | Birth name of Zechs Merquise. He uses this name during his brief time as an ambassador of peace from Sanc (episodes 21-23), and again later in the series (episodes 40-49). Mieser |
An OZ soldier stationed at the Lake Victoria Base, Mieser is the man Zechs places in charge of restoring the Tallgeese to its full operating capacity after the death of Otto. He is also in charge of rebuilding the self-destructed Gundam 01 (Wing Gundam) for Zechs' duel with Heero at the South Pole. (Also Miser, Maser, or Meiser in some translations.) |
Mogadishu Commander |
Unnamed commander of the Alliance Mogadishu Base that was
attacked and destroyed by Alex, Mueller, and Zechs.

Mr. Winner |
Quatre's father, head of the Winner family, pacifist, and
owner of the Winner Company. Referred to in the series as both "Mister
Winner" and "Master of the Winner Family." He was a devout follower of
Heero Yuy's philosophy of pacifism, believing that violence only begets
more violence. As a result, he and Quatre separated when Quatre became a
Gundam pilot. When the leaders of the colony voted to support the war
effort in space, Mr. Winner disconnected the resource satellite from the
colony in protest. The colony fired upon the satellite, killing Mr.
Winner. (In the Series Novelization, he is also called Zayeed Winner.)

Mrs. Darlian |
Wife of Vice Foreign Minister Darlian and Relena's surrogate
mother. (Name translated as Dorlan or Dorlian in some sources.)

Mrs. Noventa |
Wife and widow of Marshal Noventa, the Alliance's Chief
Commander. She lives in Marseilles, and her mother
lives in Sicily. Mrs. Noventa writes a letter to Heero, encouraging
him to use his life, not his death, to redeem the death of her husband. It
is this letter that Relena delivers to Heero in Antarctica.

Muller |
Muller, call sign Blue Angel, was an OZ Lieutenant and Aries
pilot who was trained by Noin at Lake Victoria Academy and then joined OZ.
He was a member of the Number 33 Independent Troops of Northeast Africa,
Somalia front. Along with Alex, he was hunting down former Alliance
members and attacking them in the name of Treize Khushrenada. He was
killed by Zechs after violating the terms of surrender during an attack on
the Mogadishu Fortress. (Also listed as Mueller in some sources.)

Nanaki |
Nanaki was an Alliance Major stationed in an independent
country taken over by Alliance forces led by Colonel Bundt. He, like his
fellow comrades, wished to maintain as much independence and autonomy as
possible and refused to accept help from OZ in defeating the local
guerilla forces (led in part by ex-Alliance Officer Sally Po), but Bundt
secretly sells out to OZ and Nanaki and the soldiers loyal to him are
killed by OZ.

Nichol |
OZ Lieutenant and Lady Une's aide who took a distinct dislike of
Trowa when he worked undercover and infiltrated OZ. Although Nichol was
eventually imprisoned for jeopardizing Lady Une's safety, he returned to
bring Lady Une to Earth after Barge was destroyed. He eventually
sacrificed his life to help defeat White Fang troops. (Name translated as
Nicols in some sources.)

| No-Name | The young mercenary soldier and mobile suit technician who would later assume the identity of Trowa Barton and become the pilot of the Gundam Heavyarms. See main listing under Trowa Barton for episode references and images. |
Otto Richter |
An OZ soldier loyal to Zechs Merquise, Otto is the lead mechanic put in charge of returning the Tallgeese to full functionality. He is injured during a test flight phase of the reconstruction, and ultimately sacrifices his life for Zechs in re-taking the Sanc Kingdom from the Alliance. |
Pagan |
Man of multiple skills: chauffeur, swordsman, computer
specialist, jet pilot, and Relena's butler. He is shown as a longtime
associate of both Peacecraft children, as he spars with a much younger
Zechs in a fencing contest in episode 15. (Also Pargan in some
translations.) |
Professor G |
A prior member of the Alliance’s mobile suit development
team, all of whom disbanded and fled the project after completing the
Tallgeese and designing Wing Gundam Zero, and eventually set up
development on separate colony clusters and Earth. Professor G (Colony
Cluster L2) is the Gundam engineer who designed and constructed the Gundam
Deathscythe and gives orders to Duo Maxwell. He has an unusually long
nose, a prominent scar on his left cheek, a mustache, and wears his hair
in a thick, mushroom shaped hairstyle.

Quatre Raberba Winner |
Quatre is a young aristocrat, the thirtieth child - and only
son - of a wealthy family of pacifist-minded space colony developers.
Though he's the most tender-hearted and gentle of the Gundam pilots,
Quatre is just as brave and determined, and has defied his family's wishes
in order to join the battle against OZ. Quatre is aided by a troop of
forty loyal soldiers and can draw on the Winner family's vast resources,
assets which more than make up for his relative lack of fighting skill.

Quatre's Butler |
A man shown only once, in the company of Quatre and the
Maganacs in a desert encampment shortly after Quatre's arrival on Earth.

Quinze |
Quinze, a former compatriot of the politician Heero Yuy, was
present at the assassination of Heero Yuy in AC175. He is the leader of
White Fang, and the man who initially planned Operation Meteor with Dekim
Barton and arranged for the development and construction of the Gundams.
He leads the Artemis Revolution in order to take control of the Battleship
Libra and the Lunar Base, after which, he forms the White Fang, a group of
rebel colonists who team up to defeat the Earth forces. He manages to
convince Zechs to join them as their figurehead, and demotes himself to
second-in-command. (Name listed as Quinze Barton on IMDB.com, also Kanz,
and other phonetic variations.)

Rashid Kurama |
Commander of the Maganac Corps, a private army/self-defense
unit of a Middle Eastern nation that is resisting the Alliance. Abdul,
Ahmed and Auda act as his lieutenants within the group of forty soldiers.
Rashid is very protective of Quatre, and he and the other Maganacs aid him
(and eventually the other Gundam pilots) in any way they can. His mobile
suit is customized with head mounted vulcan guns, shoulder armor similar
to Sandrock's in design, and a command antenna mounted on the head of the
suit. (Name translated as Rasid, Rasheed, or even La Sheed in some

Relena (Peacecraft) Darlian |
Relena is the pampered daughter of the Earth Alliance's vice
minister for foreign affairs. Her father, a former statesman of the Sanc
Kingdom, is responsible for the negotiations with the space colonists, an
assignment which leaves Mr. Darlian little time for his wife and child.
Her family's wealth and status make Relena the star of her private

When her quiet existence is disrupted by the Gundam pilots, this poor
little rich girl discovers her own, previously untapped, reserves of
strength and courage. Later revealed as the missing princess of the Sanc
Kingdom, she pursues ideals of Pacifism, is installed as a figurehead for
the World Nation and titled "Queen of the World" before the collapse of
the temporary government. She eventually adopts the name of her foster
father and is working as a diplomat during the events in Endless Waltz.

Sally is a honest and well-meaning major in the Alliance,
assigned to the UESA's intelligence bureau. While working at one of the
Alliance's medical facilities, she meets Heero and is intrigued by the
mysterious young Gundam pilot. After the collapse of the Alliance, and
opposed to OZ and the Romafeller Foundation, she elects to aid the
Gundams. She eventually joins the Preventers, adopts the codename "Water,"
and works closely with Wufei, and then with both Lady Une and Lucrezia

A high ranking member of the White Fang who secretly infiltrated OZ (rank of Colonel) and worked on the construction of the Battleship Libra. He was instrumental in capturing Tsuberov and the Libra. He is sent to attack Barge along with Zechs, but is killed when Barge fires its cannon. (Also referred to in some sources as Sedichi.) |

Granddaughter of Field Marshall Noventa; she lives in
Marseilles. Heero goes to visit her and begs for her forgiveness for the
accidental death of her grandfather.

Trant Clark |
The OZ Lieutenant who went against Tuberov's orders and
persisted in investigating a practical use for Wing Zero's cockpit system.
After collecting data from test subjects Heero and Duo, he went insane and
died while piloting Wing Zero. In the manga adaptation of the series, he
is friends with Hilde and spends time on the same colony where she
operates her salvage company.

Treize Khushrenada |
Treize is the charming, charismatic leader of OZ--and of the
Specials, the elite Earth Alliance taskforce which serves as OZ's
disguise. He is a pure aristocrat, who lives by a code of chivalry and
conducts himself as a gentleman even while plotting cruel treachery and
bloody revolution. Treize's wicked schemes are rooted in a nobleman's
conviction that conflict and war serve to strengthen and improve the human
spirit. He is admired by OZ's soldiers; feared by his Alliance superiors;
and a close, trusted friend to ace pilot Zechs Merquise. He guides the
actions of Lady Une, and later motivates her to seek balance in her
emotions. Trieze is also the father of Mariamaia Khushrenada. (See the

etc.) It is mentioned in the series (ep 22) that Treize "has had ties with
the Sanc Kingdom since his youth" and Dorothy specifically mentions that

the final battle of Earth versus the White Fang forces in space.

The soldier from Mariemaia's Army that remains loyal to Treize
and assassinates Dekim Barton after Dekim shoots Mariemaia Khushrenada.

Trowa Barton (Dekim's son) |
Twenty-year-old son of Dekim Barton, member of the Barton
Foundation, and influential member of the Barton family. Trowa was the
original pilot intended for Gundam 03, Heavyarms, during Operation Meteor.
After an argument with Doktor S, he was shot and killed by the scientist's
assistant, and the mobile suit mechanic known as No-Name adopted his name
and an altered mission plan instead.

The most mysterious of the Gundam pilots, the young man who
calls himself Trowa was sent to Earth as the pilot of the Gundam Heavyarms.
The cool, quiet Trowa has nerves of steel and superb reflexes, qualities
which serve him well in his cover identity as an acrobatic clown in a
traveling circus troupe. He also has soldiering experience far beyond his
years. When combined with his heavily-armed Gundam, Trowa's tactical skill
and combat ability make him a veritable one-man army. (See the

The Chief Engineer of Romefeller, Tubarov (military rank of
Colonel) is responsible for constructing the Mobile Dolls on the moon base
and is Lady Une's second in command during the time she is in space. He
develops a conflict of interest with Lady Une over the treatment of the
Gundam pilots, and he shoots her. During the Artemis Revolution, Tubarov
mobilizes the mobile dolls on the Lunar Base. When Wufei arrives with the
Alton Gundam, he destroys the MD hanger that Tubarov took control over,
killing him as well as his creations. (Name translated as Tsubarov in some

The street vendor that Quatre befriends in episode 30 of the
series.

Vice-Minister Darlian |
Vice Foreign Minister of the Alliance and Relena's surrogate
father. Primary representative of Earth to the colonies. Prior to his
position as Vice Foreign Minister, he served as member of the senate in
the Sanc Kingdom. He adopted Relena as his daughter when he made his
escape in the wake of the Alliance attack of AC182. He was assassinated by
Lady Une in (April-May) AC195. (Name translated as Dorlan or Dorlian in
some sources.)

Walker |
Alliance soldier from the Corsica Base who was loyal to
Zechs. He brought the Tallgeese to the attention of Zechs, and then
defended it from Trowa's attack by sacrificing his life to both protect it
and cover Commander Bonaparte's retreat from the base airspace. Quatre
kills him in Gundam Sandrock, but Walker makes a last attempt to gain data
for the soldiers who will have to fight the Gundams after him. (Name
translated as Berker in some sources.)

Zechs Merquise |
This masked warrior is OZ's top mobile suit pilot. Up until
now, OZ has disguised itself as the Earth Federation's elite "Specials"
taskforce, and Zechs has accumulated numerous distinctions during his
career in the Specials. He earned the highest marks in the history of the
Lake Victoria military academy, received the first two-rank promotion in
the history of the Specials, and acquired the nickname "Lightning Baron"
for his exploits. Zechs's accomplishments have made him a hero among OZ's
soldiers, but this master soldier is cunning enough not to overestimate
his own abilities or underestimate those of his enemies. Zechs is also an
alias for Milliardo Peacecraft, the prince of the Peacecraft monarchy and
brother to Relena Peacecraft. He eventually parts from OZ, changes
allegiances and leads the White Fang. He suicides by destroying the power
core in Libra in order to destroy it before it impacts with Earth, but
apparently survives, as he approaches Lady Une after Relena is abducted by
the Mariamaia Army. After peace is restored once more, he and Noin leave
