The
standard mass production aerial combat mobile suit of the Alliance and OZ
forces. Developed from the same base as the Leo, it boasts high speed
flight, with the legs being retractable in order to improve aerodynamics.
With its high speed and maneuverability, it can quickly outflank almost any
terrestrial targets. Its weapons, a rapid-fire chainrifle and a four-tube
missile pod, can be used as handheld weapons or mounted on its wing pylons.
The Alliance's Aries are painted seal blue, while OZ's are black; commander
units are painted green and mud brown. Lucrezia Noin has a personal Aries,
painted similarly to the commander unit but lacking the brown. The Aries is
named for Aries the Ram, the third sign of the Western Zodiac, and may
derive its name from fact that "Aries" sounds similar to "air".

A
simplified mobile suit designed purely for aquatic combat, the Cancer is one
of the few non-anthropomorphic mobile suits in the After Colony era. Despite
this, it is somewhat transformable, being able to shift from a more
hydrodynamic cruising mode to a more combat-worthy mobile suit mode, in
which it can use its propeller-equipped claw arms for close combat. Along
with its "brother", the Pisces, the Cancer allows the Alliance to dominate
the seas. The Alliance uses blue-painted Cancers, while OZ's machines are
painted red. The Cancer is named for Cancer the Crab, the fourth sign of the
Western Zodiac.

After
being badly damaged in space and captured by OZ, the five Gundam engineers
worked in secret to upgrade and refine the Shenlong for Wufei's use. These
modifications include the addition of a pair of wing-like random binders,
providing superior space mobility. Shenlong's weaponry was also enhanced by
giving it a dragon fang in each arm, replacing the beam glaive with a
double-ended beam trident, and installing a "stinger" beam cannon using data
taken from the Vayeate. The name "Altron" is a Japanese corruption of "er-tou
leung", which is Chinese for "two-headed dragon", and is the name of the
Long clan's guardian spirit.

The
Endless Waltz version of the Altron Gundam. It loses most of the weapons
gained in the upgrade to Altron, but the dragon fangs are replaced by larger
units that are no longer completely integral with the forearms. These larger
dragon fangs are connected to the arms by a series of collapsing "box"
joints, which give it over twice the range and much more flexibility than
the original fangs ever possessed. Though it loses the random binder wings,
Altron Custom/Nataku seems to lose none of its ability to function in space.
It is referred to as "Gundam Nataku" by the official media and merchandise,
but is sometimes labeled "Altron Gundam Custom", especially when Endless
Waltz appears in the Super Robot Wars series of video games.

Gundam Deathscythe - Professor G's Gundam, it specializes in stealth and
high-speed combat. Its backpack thrusters give it the highest mobility of
the five Gundams, while the hyper jammers allow it to scramble enemy radar
over a wide area. Its main weapon is a high-output beam scythe, keeping with
its pilot's nickname "Shinigami". The buster shield on its left arm mounts a
beam blade and can be fired at enemies as a flying beam drill weapon.

Gundam Deathscythe Hell - When the Gundam Pilots returned to space, the
Earth-tuned Gundams proved to be no match for the space-combat Taurus - as
Duo learned first-hand. After his capture, the Gundam engineers took
Deathscythe's remains and upgraded it in secret, giving Duo another chance
at fighting OZ. The improved Deathscythe Hell, as it was named, featured a
twin beam scythe with a rocket motor on the back to add power to its swings.
Though it lost the machinecannons, it gained the active cloak, a set of
wing-like shields backed by the Mercurius' planet defensor technology,
giving it exceptional defense. (Note: With the American release of Gundam
Wing merchandise, including model kits and action figures, the name of this
Gundam was often shortened to "Gundam Deathscythe H", due to sensitivities
about the use of the word "Hell".)

Gundam Deathscythe Hell Custom - The Endless Waltz version of Deathscythe
Hell. The most noticable change is a general streamlining of the machine,
with the active cloak taking on a distinctly more bat-like appearance and
adding thrusters. The twin beam scythe is replaced with a weapon dubbed the
beam scissors, effectively a giant beam scythe. With the loss of the buster
shield, Deathscythe Hell Custom becomes a fully close combat machine, using
its speed to close on enemies and its armor to shrug off damage as it moves
in for the kill. (Note: As with its television counterpart, the name of this
Gundam was often shortened to "Gundam Deathscythe H" on American

This
mobile suit was created by Treize Khushrenada during the time he was placed
under confinement by the Romefeller Foundation. Based on data from the
Tallgeese and the other Gundams, and in keeping with Treize's philosophy,
the Gundam Epyon, Greek for "next," eschews cowardly long-range weapons in
favor of chivalrous close combat. Since it has no projectile weapons, so its
main weapons are a segmented, whip-like heat rod, and a powerful beam sword
whose energy is supplied by a direct connection to the Epyon's generator.
The Epyon can also transform into a "mobile armor" mode (referred to as
'dragon-mode') for high-speed flight. Treize installed a modified version of
the Zero System into the cockpit as well, making this suit a powerful
opponent. It was originally given to Heero but he traded it with Zechs after
their battle at the Sanc Kingdom. It continued to be used by Zechs until it
was destroyed in the final episode.

Heavyarms Kai was given an improved backpack and thrusters all over its
body, giving it the ability to fight well in outer space. The only other
real change was the replacement of the twin beam Gatling with a

Gundam Heavyarms Custom - The Endless Waltz version of Heavyarms Kai. While
the other four Gundams lost weapons in the transition from television to
film, Heavyarms actually gained more, more the doubling its arsenal of
missiles and machineguns. The shield and twin beam Gatling unit was replaced
with a pair of shell-firing double Gatling guns, which use Gundanium-jacketed
ammunition. However, this modification also includes the removal of the army
knife, leaving Heavyarms Custom with no melee weapons. One final addition is

Gundam Sandrock Kai - When the Gundam Pilots went to space to battle the
rebels known as White Fang, Quatre found that his Sandrock wasn't suited to
fight at its fullest. Thus, Gundam ally Howard upgraded the Sandrock to
enable it to function in space as well as it did on Earth. The biggest
change to Sandrock Kai is the addition of a large, thruster-laden backpack,
as well as a number of other thrusters added all over its body for space
mobility. Unfortunately, this modification removes the cross crusher weapon,
of which the original backpack was an integral part. The upgrade included
the addition of a beam submachinegun, giving Sandrock better ranged combat
abilities. At one point, Heero installs the ZERO System in Sandrock Kai in
order to allow Quatre to counter Dorothy Catalonia's use of the system to
coordinate White Fang's mobile doll forces, but after that battle Quatre
removes the system, feeling it is too dangerous for him to use.

Gundam Sandrock Custom - The Endless Waltz version of Sandrock Kai. It was
redesigned from the ground up, giving it a distinctly Roman feel in terms of
outward appearance. Like Deathscythe Hell, Sandrock loses most of its
weapons in the transition, being left with nothing but its vulcan guns and
the heat shotels, which were redesigned into gigantic swords. The shoulders
sport objects that resemble Deathscythe's hyper jammers, but what these may
be has never been revealed. The only true addition is the option armor, a
set of ejectable shoulder armor mounting a cloak that allows Sandrock to
survive the heat of re-entry. A shield with the cross crusher function

Leo - The first mass production military mobile
suit, designed for both ground and space combat. Even though it is over
fifteen years old at the start of Operation Meteor, the Leo is still a
sturdy, reliable machine that can be adapted for almost any situation, and
is fielded by practically every major military force. The standard Leo is
painted a drab olive color, while the space combat version is purple, and
OZ's Southeast Asian forces use royal blue Leos. The Leo is named for Leo
the Lion, the fifth sign of the Western Zodiac, and presumably derives its
name from the lion on the Romefeller Foundation's crest.

Maganac - The main mobile suit of the Maganac Corps, constructed by the
Winner Corporation and often found fighting alongside the Gundam Sandrock
and its young pilot, Quatre Winner. Though its abilities are only slightly
better than the Leo's, the skill, experience, and teamwork of the close-knit
Maganac Corps more than makes them a match for practically every enemy OZ
can throw at them. Each of the forty members of the Corps has his own
Maganac mobile suit, customized to suit his own tastes, often featuring
unique weapons and stylish adornments like modified armor, capes and more.
Some of the Maganac units confirmed to exist:
Unit 01: Piloted by the overall commander of the Corps, Rashid Kurama.
It sports a head with a commander crest and vulcan guns as well as stylized
shoulder armor, which may have inspired the design of the Sandrock. In the
closing scenes of Endless Waltz, a "Custom" version appears, wearing an
armored cloak but otherwise appearing to be little more than a slight
redesign of the original version.
Unit 05: Bears larger, shield-shaped shoulder armor.
Unit 10: The machine of unit commander Ahmad; other than a redesigned
head and shoulder armor, it seems to be the same as the baseline Maganac. In
the closing scenes of Endless Waltz, a "Custom" version appears, wearing an
armored cloak and its forehead bearing a sculpture of the Maganac Corps'
symbol, a winged cobra.
Unit 13: Bears no noticeable changes.
Unit 22/27: The personal machine of unit commander Abdul, a high
mobility machine with thrusters on its shoulder armor and legs. It uses a
long-range cannon which fits over its left hand in use. In the closing
scenes of Endless Waltz, a "Custom" version appears, wearing an armored
cloak and turban (as well as an MS-sized version of Quatre's goggles) and
carrying a massive bazooka.
Auda's Unit (number unknown): Piloted by unit commander Auda, this
Maganac replaces its left arm with a massive, Gundanium-armored claw that
can rip through enemy machines with ease. In the closing scenes of Endless
Waltz, a "Custom" version can be seen, wearing an armored cloak like
Sandrock Custom and sporting a large, red "ponytail" trailing from its head.

Mercurius - An advanced Gundam-level mobile suit, developed by the five
Gundam engineers after their capture by OZ. Designed for extreme defense, it
employs a new technology called planet defensors, which generate a powerful
electromagnetic forcefield. It was designed to work in concert with the
Vayeate, using the planet defensors to shield it from enemy attacks. Its
only weapons are a beam gun and a beam blade-mounting crash shield, but the
defensors can also be used as weapons if need be. Under OZ, it was piloted
by the captive Heero Yuy, and White Fang used his data when they produced a
mobile doll version of the Mercurius for the final battle with the World
Nation.

all-purpose model than the Cancer. It can transform into a humanoid combat

Serpent - Originally designed by Treize Khushrenada as a successor to the
aging Leo, the Serpent was mothballed following Romefeller's decision to
produce mobile dolls rather than mobile suits. The plans fell into the hands
of the Barton Foundation, where they were modified and put into use by the
Mariemaia Army. While the details remain vague, it has been said that the
original Serpent was intended as a more general purpose machine, carrying
small arms. In Barton's hands, the machine was refined into a heavy assault
unit, partly inspired by the Heavyarms, the Gundam in whose development the
Foundation played the largest part. It carries heavy weapons including
Gatling guns, bazookas, and beam cannons, and uses a thruster-laden backpack
to allow it to hover over the ground. The Serpents used by the Mariemaia
Army are armored with Neo-Titanium, a new alloy said to be much stronger and
lighter than standard Titanium. The Serpent is named for Ophiuchus the
Snake-Handler, formerly known as Serpentarius, the thirteenth sign of the
Western Zodiac, which is typically excluded from the Zodiac since the Sun

Tallgeese - Also known as the Prototype Leo, the Tallgeese was the first
combat-capable mobile suit, developed twenty years prior to the battles that
would eventually become known as the Eve Wars. Designed by the future Gundam
Engineers and Howard, the Tallgeese boasts speed and power beyond machines
two decades newer. However, tragedy marred the development, as the
Tallgeese's lack of safety concerns cost the lives of most or all of its
test pilots, and its creators quit in protest following the assassination of
Heero Yuy. Deemed too dangerous for mass production, the Tallgeese was
mothballed until Operation Meteor, when OZ pilot Walker convinced Zechs
Merquise that its incredible power might make it a match for the five rebel
Gundams. Despite the fact that it only carries a dobergun and two beam
sabers, its superior performance make it a great threat on the battlefield.
The existence of a Tallgeese used by Mei Lan during the events of Wu Fei's
Episode Zero story, as well as the remarkably short amount of time it took
Treize to build both Tallgeese II and III, suggests that multiple Tallgeese
units were constructed for testing purposes, but this notion has yet to be
verified by any official source.

Tallgeese II - A mobile suit designed by Treize Khushrenada for his own
personal use against White Fang. Compared to the original Tallgeese, the
only real difference is the new color scheme and a redesigned head, with a
Gundam-inspired faceplate and a crest reminiscent of Epyon's wings. The
animation depicts the dobergun as a beam cannon, which has often been a
source of contention among fans. When Endless Waltz was released, it was

intended to use Tallgeese III, but it was not completed in time.

Tallgeese III - The final design in the Tallgeese series of mobile suits,
created by Treize Khushrenada himself. He originally intended to use it in
battle with White Fang, but the advanced weapons (namely the heat rod and
megacannon) would take too long to complete, so he used the
easier-to-produce Tallgeese II instead. Following the end of the war,
Tallgeese III fell into the hands of Preventer, who completed it and handed
it to Wind, their newest agent. The Tallgeese III features several upgrades,
including a heat rod similar to the Epyon's, and the megacannon. This
weapon, an evolution of the beam cannon first seen on the Vayeate, can fire
shots nearly as powerful as Wing Zero's twin buster rifle, but only once;
the massive output drains the Tallgeese III of all power afterwards.

Tragos - Based off of the Leo's design, the Tragos is a powerful ground
combat mobile suit. It is noticeably shorter than most mobile suits because
it is typically equipped with an ejectable hovercraft system, allowing it to
move quickly over any terrain. The large shell-firing cannons mounted on its
shoulders give it excellent fire support abilities, a role it often plays in
the Alliance and OZ's attacks. The name Tragos is derived from the Greek

Vayeate - An advanced Gundam-level mobile suit, developed by the five Gundam
engineers after their capture by OZ. Focused on heavy attack, it can take on
any opponent when it works with its defense-focused brother, Mercurius. Its
primary weapon, and indeed its only weapon, is a large beam cannon powered
by a beam generator mounted on its back. This gives the cannon firepower
equal to, or possibly greater than, the Wing Gundam's buster rifle, while
providing it with unlimited ammunition. Initially piloted by Trowa Barton,
White Fang builds its own copy of the Vayeate near the end of the war, which
is controlled by a modified mobile doll program based off of Trowa's combat
